2048x1440 when on 21" monitor, 1920x1200 on my 17" (because it can't go higher at a decent refresh).

1440x1920 (rotated) for looking at code/documentation. For some reason the 4x.xx detonators will accept 2048x1440 as a custom res when in the normal orientation, but won't allow 1440x2048 when rotated.

150Hz? What kind of setup is that?

I'm surprised 1280x1024 is a "standard" resolution, as it's not even a 4:3 aspect ratio. I'm running 1280x960 @ 100hz on my 19, 1024x768 @ 75 on my 17. Any more than 85 on the 17 and it causes the 19 to flicker. :Q

gf4 ti4200 w/ 700nf

also my ultimate rig in sig

however the monitor only works at 150 when i have det 41.09's dont ask me y but no other time does it work it gives me refresh rate errors

1600*1200@85Hz here on my 19". Once I got used to the space there's no turning back.
And what is up with people using 1280*1024?

Holy sh*t, what kind of 17 inch monitor is that?!? :Q

I normally run 1600x1200@75Hz on my Philips 109B2, but my Radeon SDR PCI was making my new 8RDA-based system instable, so I'm using a crappy powered-by-ATI Radeon VE right now with terrible 2D image quality, so I'm being forced to run at 1152x864. :(

Yeah, what kind of 17" is that? It sounds crazy.

Speaking of 2D image quality, I am actually running my Philips 109P4 off a GeForce2MX, crazy thing looks just as good as the Radeon 8500 I had in their for a while....... weird.

Man I just don't see (no pun intended) how you clowns can get along with 1600x1200. I just flipped my 19" over to 1600x1200 for a second and just how is it that you guys see ANYTHING? Everything is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tiny! You must be right on top of that thing or have it sitting in your lap. Lord help you if you run across a web page or something with small print. How do you see it? Do you have the accessibility features turned on so you can whip out your magnifying glass? Your eyes must be killing you after reading a couple emails. 1600x1200 people always seem so proud of it too...why? I'll keep eating my carrots cuz I think I must just be missing something...

I usually sit so that my head is about 2 feet from my monitor...dunno if that's normal or not. The resolution of 1600x1200, at a decent refresh rate, with a good (that means not an Nvidia Geforce MX, or pre-GF3) video card, is quite usable. One thing though, is that when I view web pages, I keep the text zoom setting at "normal" or 100% (depending on the browser). Usually, people who browse at lower resolutions on 19 inch monitors have the text settings smaller, so when they switch to 1600x1200, it's no wonder that everything is so damn tiny.

I run 1280x1024 on a Samsung 955df. Is 1280x768 really non standard with a funky aspect ratio? I really cant tell the difference between it and and 1280x960. Anybody know why? If i try 1600x1200 it looks fine too, but 1600x960 is totally distorted.

1400x1050 laptop 15" screen. Resolution is perfect, text crystal clear. And for the guy who kept saying everything is too tiny, you should note that all fonts and window bars are adjustable. Takes all but a few minutes to adjust once.

1400x1050 on my 15" laptop screen

1280x1024 on my 19" CTX monitor (doesn't support 1280x960, that's why I don't use it)

1920x1440 on my viewsonic g790 - nobody could read anything but me, and i could fit three browsers side by side, all displaying full pages, or fit 20 im windows on it without overlapping - including the buddy list!

Yep, this confirms my suspicions of young people's conspiracy with their perfect vision.
