ya know, just a question.. why is it that everywhere i see a connection speed, it always goes 56k, cable, then dsl, as if dsl were faster than cable?

I had a 1mbit dsl line here for 6 months, and then I got my cable, and the cable outdoes the dsl by far, and I've heard the same from a lot of people!

I throw a stone across the street. If I succeed in hitting the turtle's back, he runs all the way down to the end of the street. He plugs in a receptacle that connects me to the department of public works. Here, they look up my account and make sure I have no tardies on my payment record.

If that's ok, they open a valve. Water begins to flow through terra cotta pipelines to my domicile. When it enters my private pipes, a wheel turns connected to a shaft with a horseshoe magnet on it. I made the magnet even stronger with rare earth magnets from old Seagate Barracuda SCSI drives my dogfood eating brother smuggled out of the Pentagon for me back in '95.

When the powerful alternating magnetic field is cut with wires that I salvaged out of 315 mopar alternators, (it was nice of Leroy to make them already on a spool, but splitting the cast iron &quot;jaws&quot; apart was a bitch) Great EMF begins to bring my computer to life.

At this time I can surf the web.

Imagine having to do THIS every day!

2 muxed T1s from Tier 1 ISP XNet, 2 muxed T1s from QWest Tier 1 ISP - theoretically 4 muxed T1s; that's at work. At home, I'm on 56k connecting at 49,333. DSL is here, and I'm getting 1.5 / 512K ADSL in 2 1/2 weeks.

my school has a T1 coming in, but two freakin thirds is taken for distance learning. That room is connected to 3 other schools, and there's live vid from those schools so the teacher and students in the room can see the other students.

At home i got cable.
