My burner only handle +R. Plays in everything I've tried so far, except my nephews little clamshell portable player with 2 inch screen (time for him to upgrade)

There are a few advantages to the +R format.

I myself have a +R burner.

My Lite-On DVD drive (which is three months old), will not play the +R discs my burner produces. I bought a Plextor DVD drive that will.

Most standalone DVD players that I have come across play my +R discs no problem.
