+R for movies and -R for backing up data.

-R for movies if the DVD player is old.

I didn't vote, since I have a DRU500a and can do either. I use whatever's cheap... My Memorex DVD player can handle just about anything I throw at it. :D

+R

IMO, the -R are cheaper for the 1x/2x media but are comparable for the 4x media (either that or I happen to notice more +R media sales - just got eight 25 packs of memorex 4x media at $24 (w/ tax) per 25 pack from OD last week)...

What about people that do both?

I only have +r/+rw drive, 2.4x speed. +R Works with 6 of the DVD Drives I've tested (3 various aged players, 3 PC's with DVD Drives.)

My JVC DVD player only reads +R. Tried -R and no go.
