Poll: What do you pay for rent? (those who apply)

I'm kind of curious for those of you who rent, apartments and such, what do you pay? This poll is mainly for those who are in their 20's but if you fit in then by all means. I'm a college student and just signed a lease to be living off campus next year and I'm just curious what others are paying.

Just to clarify

This is for the cost of one person paying. So if you are sharing a room put what your part of the rent is... not the full rent

it also might help to say where you live and what is included

Can't speak for myself (I own my house... 🙂) but I know my sister is paying $565 for a 1 bedroom with all bills paid save for electric...

average two bedroom apartment in berkeley = $1799 w/out utilities or washer/dryer
average one bedroom apartment = $1299

a friend of mine is splitting the cost of a $2100 a month three bedroom with her roommates

the days of rent control are long gone

$565 for a one bedroom plus utilities.

Last apt before this was $415 CAN for a bachelor plus utils - it wasn't big but it was very nice in a totally kickass location.

$345 a month. Includes all utilities, cable, broadband access, food, laundry services, off-street parking, etc. I live with my parents. 😀

I'm personally curious if anyone here lives in New York City or Long Island. A lot of people I know in their 20s in NY just can't afford to rent a place. Hell, a friend of mine is paying $500/mo. for 1/2 a basement in Queens. He doesn't share the basement with ppl. he knows, he just rents 1/2 a basement and other tenants have the other half.

I pay 704, but it'll be half that as soon as my new roommate finds a job......he now owes me a full month of rent.....

$350 a month for 2 bedroom house (!!!) in the San Fransisco Bay Area, in a nice neighborhood. My Grandpa's my landlord. 😉 Sure beats dorms.
