Vote in the poll, and then reply and tell why.

Also, are their any that I should add?

I run OGR because of 3 reasons.

First, it uses the rock-solid distributed.net client and I haven't had any problems with it.

Second, Stats!!!:)

Third, As an engineering major, I can see the benefits of Optimum Golumb Rulers.

I run rc5, because dual celerons aren't good for much else.
I run SETI because it makes better use of my Katmai P3.

RC5, it was pretty much the only thing around when I started, although I did run Gimps for a while, and signed up for seti updates before they released the client, I have stuck with what I started, I am approaching 100k though, so I may switch.

Tuffguy and Fingers, you need to vote in the poll by clicking on the graph icon on the right. I don't want to be alone here!

Edit: A PII's pretty good at SETI, and I'm racing Sukhoi. My Cyrix isn't on SETI (yet ;)) because it's no good at anything but RC5.

Cool poll. Work machines - mostly seti, 'cuz my work herd is mostly Sun workstations which crank at floating point math [seti], and suck at integer math [OGR and RC5]. Home, mostly OGR. Also did a lot of ECDL, as it was a short term project and seemed worthwhile.

I used to only run RC5 but now I only run SETI.

I voted for Gamma Flux, as most of the machines I control run that. There is one celery 500, celery 300A, Winchip 225/240, k6 233, they all run gamma, because of ease of WU transfer, no need to download WU's, and I believe it to be a worthwhile project. My main unit a k6II 500 does a variety, lately mostly Folding, (try anything once) some Seti, some gamma, generally whatever strikes the fancy today. I don't do RC5, and I know this will piss some (most) of you off, but I can't figure out why so many people have given so much to find so little... ya, I know, stats... I get a good enough stats fix with Gamma. Anyway, as long as your happy crunch'n somethin, that's all that counts. Happy Crack'n!

Love this new poll feature!

I generally do seti on my personal machines, but I just started really trying to assimilate and have found three computers that are slow and don't have quite enough memory on em. Soooo, naturally being the good TA member that I am, I loaded the dnet client on all three. Seems to be running fine.

RC5. The idea of a bunch of Dutch guys beating AnandTechers and trash talking bothered me, it's something different (got bored with AMD vs Intel, Nvidia vs. 3dfx, etc. debates), the general hardware forum is getting overrun with drivel, I don't know anything about it therefore I'm somewhat interested in learning more. Oh, the stats are cool

Oh, and the poll thing is pretty neat. But I hope it doesn't get overdone. Ity seemed like a month or two ago you couldn't get on General Harware without 27 new polls every hour. Not too bad for folks like me with broadband, :), but it must make the forums sloooow for the poor wretched souls still teetering around with 28.8's.

I have been running RC5 for a while now (almost a year) and I just completed my first SETI WU!!

Took a really long time, but I did it. =)

Running mostly OGR, but doing some RC5 as well.
Why? OGR is useful in my estimation.
RC5? Slow machines are a waste on OGR, and I want us to get ahead of the DPC!

What xrayman said :D

I started with it when TA was loosing from a Russian team, because they used some kind of hacked version of the client. I couldn't stand that honoust guys (like TA'ers) were beaten by some cheaters. :D

Since I started with it, I wanted to get it over with. Now it's a whole different ball game (or war game :D)
with the DPC's breathing in our necks.

I will stay to keep the DPC at bay. :D

OGR, because 1.) It's distributed.net, and they have the best clients and stats, IMO, and 2.) I like it better than RC5 :)

I run RC5 because :
1) I started RC5 and I like to finish what I start
2) RC5's stats please me more :) (Yes, I am a DPC-er)
3) There are scripts to produce RC5 stats for my PerProxy;
this is inspiring for new members and for most members it's
even a reason to join a subteam.

Good luck to all of you crackers!

I like the new polling facility :)

I run SETI only (well OK a tiny bit of GF on the rare occasion too) ,why? because I like the idea of being a part of a REAL attempt to find alien life.

Slahr Dzhe

What PC did you run SETI on?

seti

because it's a poorly funded segment of the government that has one of the noblest causes out there. because i doubt that we'll find anything in my lifetime. because the program was created by fellow berkeley students. because of the stats. because i like astrononmy. because i firmly believe that there is extraterrsetrial life out there.

SETI: For all the same reasons given by Assimilator1 and most of the reasons given by Tetsuo316 - I don't happen to be a Berkeley student, and while I DO think that we may detect an intelligent signal, I am NOT as certain that we will be able to effectively communicate. Mainly, I just want to PROVE that ET life DOES exist, and I'll settle for microbes on a distant planet! Although, I will grant that it's pretty unlikely we'll get any intelligent radio signals from microbes! :):):)
