I download off of Kazaa all the time but never share. Quality sucks but its free music. If I really like a group I buy their music. I.e. Insane Clown Posse, and Rammstein. If the music sucks, I delete it.

Instead of music, or movies, maybe I'll switch to downloading anime. :)

I would NOT subscribe to music that would be rendered unplayable if a monthly payment is not made. That is totally unacceptable. However, some service that charges reasonable amounts for high-quality music that isn't shackled in some draconian DRM technology (i.e. something that I can put in a compilation on a CD, or play in Linux) would definitely see use from me.

Needless to say, I hope they're not spying on emule (no, no, you don't understand; I don't use it, but I have a friend who does... yea, that's it... I didn't tell you that I'm schitzophrenic, no? ;)).

Down with the RIAA!!! Unless CD prices drop below $5 (which is what they SHOULD be anyways - they aren't rare, novelty items, it's not like their prices need to be bloated), I'll continue to pirate whatever songs I want to hear. Most of my MP3 collection IS legit, though - 320 kbps MP3s ripped from CD. But still, if I want to hear a song I like and don't want to go out and buy the CD, I'm gonna find the song whether it be on KaZaA, FTP, or whatnot.

I don't even bother to pirate, I just don't buy CD's. The radio is still free. :)

If you want to hear the same artists over and over, that is fine. What happens to those of us who are searching for new artists and sounds? The internet is the only way many bands can be heard. The only ones really hurting over piracy is the top guys at RIAA and the few marketable artists that make it big.

They are NOT hurting because of piracy (they might be losing a miniscule amount of money). They are hurting because music nowadays is sh1t and the economy is poor and EVERYBODY has lost money lately.

Just my opinion.

Did I mention that every night when I go to bed, I que up about 3 hours of music on Rhapsody and have a Wave Recorder get all the songs? That's the way to do it.

Rossman?

I think that there are so many people who use P2P, that it will be uber hard to stop. Especially users from modem connections or college networks.
