My mom recently told me I was a mistake. They were in kind of hard financial times, and I was an unexpected financial burden on them. It kind of bummed me out for a while.

So, what about you guys / gals?

I think so. They weren't expecting me, but I wasn't a financial burden on them or anything.

Somewhere in my childbirth education classes I could have sworn they said most children were mistakes, in the sense the pregnancy was not planned.

I could be wrong. I don't see anything bad about it. I'm guessing by what you say your Mom told you, her intention was to make you feel guilty. That wouldn't be very nice.

Yep, same here.
I don't see the big deal with being an "accident" or a "mistake." Probably 90% or more of all children are unplanned. The important thing is that your parents love (or loved) you.

Even if you weren't planned, or were a mistake as your mom put it, I'm glad that you're around.

Pretty sure I was... They were in very hard times when they had me... It just doesn't make much sense.

you're all mistakes, big mistakes (and your mommies are currently crying - like mine) :p;)
