POLL: Vista RC1 or XP?

I've been on Vista x64 (first RC1 and now 5728) for over a month now, haven't booted to my XP64 partition since the beginning of September...

Edit: I don't have any problems running AIM either 😕

XP, only because Logitech has ****** for developers and can't even release a beta Vista drive after months of work, let alone a XP x64 driver after years.

Edit: for their webcams.

Actually now that I think about it I never "installed" it here, I just ran it from its program folder on my XP64 partition. I do use 5.5.3595 with DeadAIM 4.5 though.

I was going to try vista till I found out alot of my drivers are not going to work and there is none at all for my old Hercules sound cards.

1) Vista is out of beta and is in the release candidate stage. This is the last release of Vista before RTM

2) RC1 installed every single driver for my Asus W5F notebook except for the 3-in-1 card reader. And even then, I was able to use the XP driver. I'm burning the ISO for RC2 right now and expect it to be even better.

xp

vista will never touch my systems...at least unless some of the fascist control elements get removed. Yeah, I know, I'm a freak. *shrug*

Hey - Is there a way someone not in the beta program can get RC2? Or is it free/quick to signup for the beta program - i wanna format tonight...

Logitech can't even release a suitable bluetooth setpoint for Windows XP.

You've been using Vista for 5 years?

My thoughts exactly....

I'm tempted to get a laptop for work now, before Vista/Office 2k7 (DRM from hell/ rearangement of power users features)

I'm posting from Vista RC2 right now. Took about 30 mins to install on this Lenovo 3000 V100 Core Duo Notebook.

Installed everything but the media reader, Bluetooth and fingerprint reader.

Are you guys using your Beta 2 keys? I used it in RC1 and it worked but of course I had an email from MS telling me to do that. I guess I will get an email next week either with a new key or just telling me to use my same old key. I am at 75% now (God dammit: it stopped. Firefox has some problems) and hopefully I can just use my old key tomorrow or whenever I install it.
