This should probably go into Software, but OT is just so much more lively :)

If I missed a major one, post and I'll add it :)

I only say IE since it's so common and you will know that 99.99999% of the time the page will render right.

All the fanboys will undoubtedly chime in, but IE is and will remain the number one browser of choice throught the known world for many years to come.

As long as you're using the SP2 IE, I won't hold it against you :)

He didn't say it was the best, he said it is & will remain the most popular, and that much is true.

What other browser doesn't render correctly? I've never had problems with the one I use :)

Do you program?

IE for Mac is even different than IE for the PC...

The multi-browser deal makes it hard to make pages all do the same thing.

IE is a browser of choice for very few people. For probvably 90% of the people surfing the web IE just 'is', there was no choice involved with it, and if they knew that other browsers existed, they may very well choose them.

I understand your reasoning, but I disagree.

Even if the 99% who are using IE knew there was a better browser I believe they would continue using IE because they are too computer illiterate or too lazy to change over.

As long as Windows is the predominant OS and IE is bundled with it, IE will be the browser that the vast majority of people use.

I have tried some of the other browsers and always gone back to IE because I don't want the hassle of learning another interface. My clients use IE and I see no reason to be changing back and forth.

Corporate America, possibly corporate world, is and will continue to use IE as long as Windows is the predominate OS.

I tried Opera a while ago, and I didn't like it. They've probably made some changes since then, but the ads really turn me off.

Firefox for me.

Im not a fan of that big banner in Opera. I do like the shift+click closes the tabs, however.

Where is the option for Mozilla? I don't like Firefox, and I use Mozilla for browsing AND email, so Firefox wouldn't be a good choice for me anyway.

Why do the mods torture us with OT reject threads? The 4 we have probably on the front page of the software forum aren't enough?!
