Poll: Time to build a AMD-Powerhouse... x-mas comes early

This is what I'm considering building instead of waiting for DDR boards, especially because SDram is so cheap right now....

900mhz tbird (possibly a 1ghz instead)
MSI k7 pro II
antec sx830 case
radeon all in wonder
128meg pc100 + 128 megs I already have
toshiba 12x dvd
45gig IMB 75gxp
19" NEC as95f
sb live value (already have)
Yamaha 4x4x16 (already have)

I'm trying to decide....I figure it will cost an extra $300.00 or so to go with DDR when it comes out. Any opinions????

Well, if I had $2500 monitor, $80g car and $450g house, WTF? ... and was interested in gaming? ok then...

Go blow more cash on this..

Athlon 1.2 gig
Case with 400 watt powersupply (you'll need it with that vid card and CPU)
29160 SCSI with a 10k RPM drive (toss the DMA66)
A7V
512megs pc133 ram (2x256, single 512's are still too expensive)

Now, That's not really going overboard...If you're a serious Gamer! and have "a bunch of of cash"

I would...

I have an $8,000 car and a $45,000 home (trailer), so therefore, you can afford to spend 10x on a computer than what I have.... and that system would be barely twice what I have. So you don't have an excuse! 😉

Extra 300 bucks? No way... we are expecting a 10% premium on the DDR SDRAM and 266FSB CPU. Not 300 bucks 🙂

I dont think youll need a 400 watter for the 1 ghz tbird and geforce 2. If you have like two cddrives a dvd drives multiple hardrives plus the tbird and geforce 2 then you'll definetely need it.
