Personally I think Herpes is pretty messed up, considering the carrier knows (generally) that they have it and don't say anything or help to stop from it being spread.

Actually the vast majority of herpes 'carriers' go many years without knowing they have herpes before receiving a proper diagnosis. Herpes presents in a variety of ways in a variety of places, many of which mimic other anomalies such as dermatitis. A good portion of herpes cases are missed by doctors. It doesn't only appear in the form of unmistakable festering sores immediately on or around the genitalia.

The penicillin shot in the butt hurts like a mofo!.

imo the worst is still AIDS. Still incurable and it basically causes you to rot to death over a couple years. The long silent incubation period causes people to spread it without knowledge.

The rest of the viral STDs (herpes, HPV) suck cause they're also incurable. HPV is supposedly rampant and supposedly condoms have only moderate effectiveness against it.

Symptoms don't need to be present for many STDs for them to be spread.

I agree with *most* of what you said, except AIDS/HIV, while not curable is still livable.. to an extent. People should be practicing safe sex no matter what. And yes Herpes and HPV are viral and dont not have cures and yes condoms are marginally protective.

But to include a link to a story and make it as if the pr0n industry is responsible for STD's is pretty silly. STD's have been around since sex with sheep was invented......

I don't believe I said the porn industry is responsible for STDs. Nor did I mean to imply such a thing. It's just an interesting article.

While treatable, AIDS still sucks. The treatment costs 20K/year, most people can't afford that. And no health insurance company will even touch you if you get it.

It gets treated? I thought it was something you just lived with and didn't know about, and may or may not cause sterility after a while if a bad case develops.
