eh, i've driven plenty that were just fine... but I've prolly been around the block a little more also. Maybe you should talk your friends into buying shocks for their domestics.Originally posted by: B00ne
well sorry I was talking about cars not trucks ok
I have been driving automatics too and what can I tell u, I didnt like it. It was boring and u felt like no control over ur acceleration right when u need it (at least there is a delay until the kickdown makes the transmission decide to shift down and get into gear) I have been driving expensive autos too and it wasnt any more fulfilling. But i do think that these kind of modern automatics where u can shift for yourself are pretty cool if they shift fast. As too smushy ride: I have yet to drive a domestic car that offered an acceptable ride and is not bouncing for half a mile after hitting a bump (car not corvette) and even more so one that offers acceptable gas consumption for the performance.
Smushy ride huh, both my 1-2 and 2-3 shift can put you in your seat....
A lot more gas huh? ummm thats funny I get 19mpg from a 5300lb 4x4 with 4.10 gears in the rear, add that kinda weight onto your ride and you won't even get out of 1st.

BTW for intents of this poll the tiptronic transmissions (little buttons on steering wheel) are to be considered automatic. I don't think anybody here has a ferrari so I'll leave it at that.
F1's do and I'm not sure what I'd consider it. On the one hand you have the laziness of the automatic with the quick response and control/power of the standard. Thankfully I know that nobody here has such a tranny in their regular car!skoorb, most people vote on the poll before reading the first message. You should have put this info in the poll description.
Also, what do you consider a clutchless manual? well, not clutchless but the clutch is electronically operated. Not tiptronic, not an slushbox automatic, but a clutchless manual. F1's use this type of transmission I believe, and so do a few cars, though its rare. What would you consider that?
