Poll : Spanking Children

they dont start learning abstractly until aroun 7-8, so they should be spanked because they need to learn the difference from right or wrong in a concrete way while they're still a spounge.

3. Some solid piece of wooden stick. I honestly don't know wtf it was and I was kinda curious for a while, but everytime I asked my mother what it was she gets all upset and tells me that it hurt her more than it hurt me. Yeah, whatever. Give me that stick and we'll find out(j/k, mom!)

I agree. I only remember being spanked once. I think that as soon as a kid is old enough to reason things out with an adult, it really shouldn't be used anymore.
 
I find it quite pointless to bully someone so much smaller than me. All you're teaching is fear and that only lasts as long as the child is smaller than you. Then you wonder why your teenager is rebelling and won't listen and doesn't trust you.

I'm fully expecting "My dad beat the living crap out of me and I turned out wonderful!" posts, so bring 'em on.
 
I was abused when I was a kid. Nearly drowned in near boiling water; starved; sawed off shotgun to the head; all that fun stuff. And it just pissed me the fvck off when people say that spanking your kids is abuse. Stupid mother fvckers....

Yes, I'm all for spanking a kid, when needed.
