Poll: So begins the month of not entering stores

Seriously.

I went to buy Battlefield 2: Special Forces today. It was absolute chaos at Best Buy. I was hoping that I could avoid all of that by going today.

That was incorrect.

Then I went to Subway. I seriously would have shot someone on the road if I would have had a gun. Soccer moms on cell phones with 8 kids hanging out the windows while their SUV cuts over into the left lane slows to 5 miles per hour, then cuts back over into the right lane.

So I'm avoiding shopping like I do this time every year. Especially since things are only open until 7pm around here due to Katrina, it's even worse.

Anyone with me?

i went to the mall this past weekend. as i was walking out to my car i waved bye to it for the next couple of months.

so true. i will not be in stores DEFINITELY on the weekends from here on out, and not on week days unless absolutely necessary.

shopping online ftw!

As someone who lives in the shadow of the largest retail shopping mall in the US, I can tell you that you never go there between Friday night and Monday morning, or between November and January. I do all my shopping at small specialty stores. No crowds, and unique gifts.

Most everyone that posts on this forum is savvy enough to know that you can buy anything and everything online. Wave of the future.

God how I hate the bell ringers.

The now-defunct K-mart across the street from my work had a lady playing the cello one year, instead of a bell. It was awesome, and got a nice donation from me 🙂

Yea, things are bad enough since Katrina. The stores that are open are packed notwithstanding black friday and their hours suck. Just wait till Mardi Gras.

If I didn't put it, the first post would have been someone with that answer and they would have complained. It's Chaotic42's Law of Polls:

"For every possible answer there is someone who will choose that answer and complain that it's missing if and only if that answer is not on your poll."
