Lol, Trump keeping it real...

link

"Trump made it clear he doesn't like it.

"It's a building that's essentially a skeleton," he said.

Trump said the plan "looks like a junkyard."

"You take a look at a the roofs of those buildings, they're all at different angles, different shapes," he said. "It is the worst pile of crap architecture I have ever seen in my life."

Trump's alternative would be replicas of the original 110-story towers, only a bit taller. The design and model by architect Ken Gardner, embraced by Trump, offered buildings that would be 1,474 feet -- more than a hundred feet taller than the original towers, once the world's tallest buildings.

"What we need is support to build a bigger and better version of two buildings and more that were taken down by people that were animals," Trump said. "If something happened to the Statue of Liberty, you wouldn't rebuild it as something other than the Statue of Liberty."

That being said Pataki is a moron.

I'd rather have something impressive which instills pride in the common person who looks at it instead of something artsy and fancy that makes art critics get aroused.

I have to admit that I like both ideas. I like the "Freedom Towers" design, and I also like the idea of rebuilding the original towers.

Let the New Yorkers decide.

I definitely can get behind the idea of rebuilding the Towers again... the whole "knock it down and it's back!" middlefinger attitude. But I also like the idea of building some even bigger and badder rather than just a tweaked copy of the originals, a few hundred feet? Why not the 2 tallest buildings in the world dammit! If Petronas could do it, why not the "world's financial center?" Go big or go home.

But I definitely wouldn't have a problem working there either. Freedom Tower just sounds stupid... I'm hoping we do get the Olympics to come here though, we could definitely use the money to redo infrastructure.

putting rocket launchers or SAM's up on top of the building is the worst idea ever... in a crowded city it would be just as bad to let the plane hit the building as it would be to shoot it down

i like the original design.. i say rebuild the twin towers... and trump is definately right about the "skeleton" comment
