You christian hippies don't think that they should be executed because you are pro-life, don't want people to kill, etc. Their after-life torment will be bad enough, etc.

However, go get a woman who is a close friend to you (or IS you, for you ladies out there), and think about what you would want if she was raped. Or, chances are 1 in 4 that she has ALREADY been raped, you should ask her about it, and how it made her afraid of virtually HALF OF THE PLANET.

Then you might change your mind.
 
Sorry, in general, I'm against execution. I say lock them up for a long long long time.... much longer than we lock them up now.

initial response is 'no', but if someone i knew was attacked, answer would be 'yes'.

Comparing rape to murder? Gotta have some sense of proportion here.
Besides, it's so easy for women to accuse men without even having their names revealed, that I think it will put too many mens lifes in jeopardy wrongly.
And of course it's just another reason for rapists to kill their victim, the cops who try to arrest them, etc. If rape is already a capital crime, those would be freebies.
 
you should add castration on your list.
either by chemicals or physical. i dont care. rapists need to be castrated, not executed.
just like murderers need to rot in a cell for the rest of their miserable lives, not executed.
 
This isn't a poll, and there are different kinds of rape. Violent vs. statuatory for instance; I certainly don't consider them similar in offense.
 
i don't think anyone should be executed. especially with rape, there's just too much room for error and misinterpretations. i mean, personally if i saw some guy raping someone and i somehow KNEW it was rape i would beat him until he died and then beat him some more. but when you're just the jury and weren't there, i don't think you should make permanant choices like that.
 
I think all prisoners should be forced to work at least 8 hrs. day. If they don't work they don't eat. Then they can use the credits they accumulate through work for food, bed, toilet, medical care etc.

I think the rape laws, and what actually defines 'rape' needs to be clarified a whole hell of a lot more before executing rapists ever comes into the picture. Call it as you see it, but I think too many guys are getting caught up in 'rape' charges by disgruntled man-hating bitches with something to prove. One case like that is one too many for executing rapists to ever become a reality.

Studies have proven castration has no real effect on rapists who are reintegrated with society. Real rape has a lot more to do with the violence and a lot less to do with the actual intercourse (and functions necessary to have intercourse).
 
umm no. it's physical assault, and while perhaps the cause of more emotional distress than other varieties of physical assault, death is clearly not a proportional response.
