My wife bought me a tandem jump for my 31st birthday (I don?t think that she took out extra life insurance just before either?go figure) and it was the coolest thing I have done?EVER. When I landed all I could think about is ?how could I make a good living doing this??

Also, by the time you get to the door of the plane it is way too late to back out and you will be so pumped that you won?t want to.

One twist in my jump?2 planeloads before me a guy that was on his 3rd solo jump had to cut away his main chute and open his reserve?made me more nervous but I still went.

I went a couple of years ago and although hanging from the strut of a small plane (thats how we did it) was one of the scariest experiences of my life one day plus the $100-150 that it cost was something I am very happy I did. Skydiving rules and unless you're one of the unlucky crashers you'll be very very pleased you did it.

Are you going dive tandem? I'm guessing you would (since you haven't gone before). Whenever I think of Skydiving, I remember that movie called "Drop Zone" (Wesley Snipes). 🙂

I can either fall off the strut of a prop plain from 3000 where the instructor throws my pilot chute for me (no free fall) or I can go tandem from 9000 feet I think, which does have freefall.

Dude.. I am hoping to jump this sunday if the weather permits.

I have already been to the place like 3 times to attempt to jump. However the first two times I attempted to jump the weather was very cloudy. I would get ready to get on the plane and a patch of clouds would just cover the sky. I must have done that for like 8 times and finally decided to reschedule the jump. So on the 3rd time when I got the place it was nice and clear UNTIL when I am @ 11,500 feet high getting ready to jump when another patch of clouds covered the sky 🙁. So we were forced to land. Right when we landed the sky cleared up again.. so we (me, my girlfriend, and another of my female fried) go up again to get ready to jump and guess what!!! This time when it was my turn to jump another patch of cloud covered the sky AGAIN!! WTF.. so we were forced to land and by this time my friend and my girlfriend got motion sickness from the fast landing and take off. So we had to reschedule the jump. This was 3 months ago 🙁. I am at CA and the weather been $hitty. I am hoping sunday it will be a clear day. So that I can finally jump. I have already pay the $300 to jump. Maybe God is hinting something to me. Won't let me jump at all 😉
Oh well I'd say DO IT while you have a strong heart 😉

Good luck to ya

DON"T DO IT

At least, don't do a static line jump. Do a 9,000 or 12,000 foot tandem jump. Free fall is the most exciting part of sky diving (and you also get the scenic glide as well). If you are really game you could ask your instructor to 'spiral you down'.

After you do it you will be buzzing for a week

you MUST go!

it is one of the BEST things you will EVER do!!!!!

i say forget the tandem and do the static line jump. drifting down all by yourself with complete controll of your life is AWESOME! freefall is truely where it is at, as long as your have controll.

you can work your way to a solo freefall. the place i jumped had an accelerated freefall program...you got to jump at 11,000 w/ instructors on each side of you...but it was all you.

the solo static is a great place to start...try to get them to let ya go higher.
