Poll: should hybrid vehicles be allowed in HOV lanes?

Why? That would diminish the point of having the HOV lanes in the first place. A hybrid is an automobile just like any other. Hybrid owners are not special.

What amount of people does "High Occupancy" require? And if it's just the AMOUNT of riders, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed.

I'm all for it. I think they should get a tax break too but thats a whole other matter.

Well Chirst, if you nutjubs want them in the HOV lane then how about diesel engine cars? My womans VW Jetta gets ~48MPG which beats the socks off hybrid cars, so she should be able to drive in a HOV lane, right?
Why don't we just rename them to Alternate Fuel Lanes if that is what you all want.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having HOV lanes if you allow cars containing only one person.

Idiots.

What the hell is a HOV lane? We commonly call the Car Pool Lanes if that's what it really is.
