If there is a need for me to hit a girl, yes, I would. But under "normal" circumstances, where there is no physical threat to myself or anyone else around me, I would not *dare* hit a woman.

well, if anyone was threatening the life of my family or friends, i wouldn't think twice about hitting them.......man, woman, animal, whatever.

When I say no, I'm refering to a man just hitting a woman for no reason. For instance if they get into an arguement and he hits her or if out of jealousy he hits her. If anyone, including a woman, is coming at someone with a deadly weapon that I definetly think they should use all means to protect himself.

 
Never, under any circumstances. Ever. Even if the woman is 10' tall, can bench 2000lbs, and is on a raging PMS rampage, destroying everything in site. But of course that's not even possible. No woman is 10' and can bench 2000lbs. 😉

No one should hit anyone.

The only time you can hit someone is in self defence, regardless if it is a man or woman, if everything else fails fight back as a last resort.

simple as that
 
I think you should treat everybody the same, which means *if* you would hit a man, you should also hit a woman in the same circumstance

same goes for race. the only way to stop sex/race related descrimination is by forgetting about differences and realizing that other people are just like you

If anyone hit me (man or woman) I'd hit them back. Why should it be any different for a man or a woman?

Now if I was to do the hitting first, I would most definitly not hit a woman.
 
I think there are circumstances where a man should be allowed to hit a woman like in self-defense. I hate it how women will hit men knowing they can get away with it. The woman might end up in jail for a few hours but she will still have all her teeth. 🙂

Why are women exempt of getting hit? It basically gives the woman the liberty to do whatever the hell she wants. If, say, a woman were hitting me, why he hell shouldn't I hit back? Should I just sit there and take the abuse because she's a girl?

It's funny, becuase I have actually almost come to blows with a woman.

We were playing flag football and I made a bit of a cutting remark towards her (in good fun). She took it personal and, after a couple of plays, started coming at me and pushing me. Everyone jumped in to break it up and cooler heads prevailed, but I wouldn't have thought twice about punching her right in her ugly grill if she wanted to fight. I have the right to defend myself, regardless of the sex of the person that is threatening me.
 
I said yes, but, only if that women really deserves it, like, say, if she serves the food cold or something.

I'd vote no, but, there's always an exception to the rule. Like, the nanny who shook the baby to death... she deserves a good beating. IMO.



 
I answered no even though I don't think that's the true answer. TuxDave said what I was thinking.

I once saw a teenage girl slap my mother (I was also a teen at the time) and without thinking I slugged her in the face, knocking her flat to the ground... and I'd do it again... sometime whether the person is a male or female makes no difference.
