I have a European friend named Sasha, and when I talk about him, everyone assumes he's a girl.

What do you think?

In the US it is used mostly as a girl's name. In Europe (especially eastern europe, former soviet block countries) Sasha is a guy's name.

eh, most people assume carrol is a girls name... as well as jamie. eh. they are both guys names. there's one that i cant think of that sounds like a southern girl's name, but it's also a guys name. like mary lou or something like that.

Alexander "Sasha" Khavanov plays for the St. Louis Blues.

The commentators in here in St. Louis used to call him Alexander until he straightened them out ;).

He was born in Moscow.
