i never really cared whether other people wore them, or if i was committing a fashion feau pax by wearing them myself. its friggin HOT here, shorts are shorts. i generally wear cargo canvas shorts on weekends, but i do have a few pairs of carpenters denim shorts my ex bought me that i wear on occasion. i dont see anything wrong with them, and i dont think it states that im somehow less intelligent or anything. people that form opinions based on what others wear are pretty shallow and stuck on themselves anyway, so what do i care how they see me? i wouldnt be friends with them anyway.

see? no matter how you defend this, youre stereotyping big time. i dont recall ever seeing a 30-40 person wearing denim shorts with the loafers. mebbe im jut not hanging in the low brow establishments like you tho.

I'm not defending anything. It's my opinion. They're ugly. The OP asked and I answered.

I wore them in the early nineties but I was a kid and didn't really care anyway.

I'm 24 now and wouldn't wear them. They're not horrible (well, real light blue ones look whack), they're just not my cup of tea. I like plaid shorts or khaki shorts, but overall would rather wear long pants/jeans anyway.
