Whats good, 256, 384, 512 or higher?

I am a graphics intense person. so i wanna see what you got.

few other q's:

can you mix 133 with 150? ram types?

How much is the ram in USA? for 128mb actually including shipping and stuff.

256mb currently. I was much happier with 384mb when I was editing video.

Sure you can mix them, but you won't know how fast they will all run together though.

Branded stuff is decently priced, pretested stuff is around the same price level.

Generic stuff? Cheapest on pricewatch that actually seems to be honoring the price on their web page is $38 +$10.50 shipping + handling

256 Adequate for intensive use of Paint Shop Pro and Ulead Photo Impact with PIII 800. My system very seldom uses the swap file.

Where's the Poll? Sorry I couldn't resist.

I do nothing but basic web surfing, ICQ, e-mail and some light gaming 256MB PC133 Crucial works for me.

I "only" have 128mb in my computer... 🙁

Including shipping, a good quality 128meg PC-133 should be somewhere around $70, but I maybe over stating the price.

Could you please enable the poll option/icon? It would make voting and compairing the results easier.

I run 256 Megs PC100 on my main machine and 128 Megs PC100 on the Server that connects to the internet and to the network that feeds all the systems in my place. I run Windows 2k on both system Dual Boot with ME just in case I need it for some older program.

256.. video and photo editing. Generic, want 512 now that the prices are so damn low.. (I'm poor 😱)

I have 256, and it seems to serve my purposes quite well, although that's what i said about 128 mb...🙂

128... for now. 256 next week.

Though, it makes me wonder why so many people still advise RAM upgrades beyond 256MB. Surely, the money spent on a CPU, HDD or graphics would make a more noticeable difference.

Only 128... Hey it's better than when a month ago I had 32... hehe.
I'm planning on getting another 128mb stick while the prices are low, maybe.
