It's marked on my license....so yes.

I don't drink, and I haven't ever been drunk either, so whoever get's my liver will be pleastantly surprised..;)

No, and I never will be. I refuse to put myself in the position of needing critical care and not getting it because the doctor knows that he can save someone else's life if I die. Sorry folks. Life's rough. Deal with it. [edit] No, I don't demand to receive an organ, but if it's available, then great.

That's not my reason for not being registered.

My parents know to donate my organs if need be, and that's good enough for me. I'm not going to be in some national database where they can track me down and run me over with a truck if some Senator needs a kidney really bad. It sounds far fetched, but Senators have been bumped up on the organ donation list in the past, so what's stopping them from having me killed for my liver because they drank too much?

Doctors are required by law and medical ethics to provide treatment to the fullest. Being an organ donor does not mean a doctor is not going to treat you to the best of their abilities.

I'm an organ donor, but there isn't much they're going to want from me when I dead and gone.
Liver - nope, I went to college
Heart - nope, heart disease runs in my family
Lungs - nope, smoked for 8 years (quit a year ago though so they're slowly healing)
Eyes - nope, wear contacts
Everything else is in pretty good shape though. They can have what's left over I guess.

Woohoo! You're an idiot. Doctors and nurses treat each patient to the fullest regardless of if they're an organ donor or not. They are required to by law.

If you think that's going to stop any and all possible "accidents" then that's a risk you're taking on your own. I'll be nice and alive when you're dead because some rich wanker needs something and some crooked doc has a fat wallet.

Yes, and as we all know, if there's a law in place, everyone abides by it no matter what!

It really comes down to the fact that I don't trust anyone that I have not come to know one bit. You do. Good for you.

Nope, but I donate blood and am on the bone marrow registry.

I know I'm being paranoid and such, but like ffmcobalt said...there is always a possibility as well as some whacked out mafia family killing me to harvest my organs for their ailing bambino....

Hmmm, I guess M&M conferences don't exist. Doctors don't get away with deaths in which they could have prevented.

If I had a choice about which organs to donate yes, but since it's all or none, no.

I know that sounds strange coming from someone that works in health care, but I've seen too many people requiring organ transplants because of high risk behaviors throughout their life.

For instance, someone who's drunk their liver into submission or has hepatitis C, etc.

I know may people who've had organ transplants, and their lives are rarely the same, I suspect many of them would not have had the procedure if they'd known the side effects of rejection drugs etc...

I also seriously resent many many of these transplants being paid for with tax dollars.

Are you talking about Men and Masculinity? I guess I just didn't understand the post. In any case, I simply refuse to leave my life in some doctor's hands if there's any reason for them NOT to save me.
