I read there will be no demo so... because Morrowind turned out to be a empty and boring game I'm not buying Oblivion if I don't have a chance to try it out first.

I'm so excited to play it. I spent hours in morrowind over several months because the game doesn't ever seem to end. There is so much to do. Man what an awesome game....

I will be playing it. guaranteed.

I've already purchased the parts and will be installing this weekend to bring my PC up to spec.

2x7800GTX, 2GB RAM, A64 X2 4200. mmmmmmmmm I can barely wait.

If Bethesda pulls off a HL2 fiasco, you are screwed.

I probably will get it though like others said it will probably beat the crap of my gfx card if the stories are true.

I played the hell outta Morrowind [edit] and Daggerfall [/edit] and cant wait for Oblivion.

[edit 2] Hell, I even played the orignal Elder Scrolls--DOS version [/edit 2]

Last minute delay that lasted a year.

HL2 was designed on a 9800 Pro. When it came out, it still ran flawlessly at 1280X960 with 4xaa and 16x af at 60+fps on it.

Yeah, they did a good job making sure it would run well across a wide variety of systems. But StrangerGuy's point still stands-- don't buy parts for a game that isn't out yet because "early 2006" often turns into "Yule time". However, Nyati13 isn't "screwed". He'll have a screaming system that he will enjoy with or without Oblivion for quite some time.

Oh, hell Oblivion has been delayed once already, it's a possibility.

But, I didn't buy the parts just for Oblivion. I got them because it's tax refund season 🙂

I doubt it'll be playable on my current system A64@2.6/6800GT@420, so I may have to wait until next fall. I remember stumbling around in Morrowind at migraine-inducing framerates, in spite of comfortably passing their "minimum" requirements.

then there must be something SERIOUSLY wrong with your sys....

i remember i played morrowind on my OLD system (XP 1900, Radeon 9800) ok...now have a A64 3500 (@2.6) and X850XT and dont expect ANY slowness whatsoever with oblivion.
