I am not going to tell how old but will list the specs (original)

CPU = Intel III 700Mhz
RAM = 128MB - upgraded to 384MB
HD = 40GB - upgraded to 160GB
Optical = 32X CD -upgraded to CD burner and DVD reader
Graphic = 32MB
Monitor = 17" CRT - upgraded to 22" LCD
OS = Win 2K - upgraded to XP Pro

All that for about $1600 (original specs and not included the upgrade prices), yes US dollars.

the one i use the most is a c2q, got the chip and board last november. that computer basically gets continuously upgraded.

the gaming computer is mostly 3 years old, but the graphics card and power supply are about 2 months old. waiting for the p183 to become widely available before i do anything more with it. may go with an p720, though with the price coming down on i7 setups i may go that way.

My old one was built from spare parts over a year ago, and because the parts were used as of January 2008, I didn't have much room to upgrade. So I ended up putting together a whole new PC over the course of a couple months, replacing various components until I finally arrived at my current setup. So mine's pretty new - oldest part is only about two months old.

Damn, that is a long time to hold onto a computer. What CPU did it have? An older Athlon or P4?

I think 5 or 6 years for me. P4 2.4 with dual channel PC800 RDRAM and a Radeon 9700. It's dying though and I should have my i7 components by the end of the month.

built my pc in march 2008, though the technology was prob. 1 yr old when i bought it...5200+ x2, 8800GT.

Only PC is a custom built desktop coming up on 2 years (May 2007). All original parts:

E6600
ASUS P5N-E SLI
2 GB Corsair XMS2 PC 5400
8800 GTS 320
Seagate Barracuda 320 GB
OCZ Game X-Stream 600W
Thermaltake Tsunami

Not much time for gaming anymore or else I probably would have done a couple of upgrades. My previous machine was a Duron 700 from 2000 - got almost 7 years out of that! 😛

I just built a new rig after going strong with my A64 system for ~4 years. I did reuse my Case, PSU, and my DVD drive though. My Dell inspiron e1505 laptop is ~2.5 years old and still going strong.

Sony Vaio laptop that I use on a nightly basis ~ 4yrs old
C2Q listed in sig is (use maybe 2-3x a week) ~ 1yr old

P4 3.0ghz on an Asus P4P800 SE, computer is about 5 years old.

Just had to replace the AGP video card this last week. Mobo died about 2 years after I built it and was replaced under warranty.

I'm considering building a new system, but now isn't really the best time to spend money.

another i7 user

Oldest part though is my Logitech Cordless Freedom keyboard. Over a decade old and still workig great.
