<< the funny thing is I talked to several computer people I know and they said that RAM makes little difference once you get above 128. And once you get above 256, more can actually start causing your system to run slower. It's just too much for the comp to handle. >>

thraashman, you might want to inform Anand of your theory. They have 768MB of RAM in their servers; imagine how slow they are with all that extra RAM!

512meg ECC PC133. I have this on my servers, my workstation and my laptop. Well, the laptop only has PC100 non ECC SDRAM, but you get the point.

And, of course, I didn't have to pay for any of it.

Lets see, I had 128mg of Mushkin PC133 REV1.5 and the wife had 128mg of Corsair PC100. I then saw the add for Crucial ram in the hot deals forum so I bought 2 256mg sticks of that. So the wife has 256mg of Crucial PC133 CAS2 (we gave the corsair to my parents who only had 64mg) and I have 256mg of Crucial PC133 and then I took my Mushkin out and put it away in case either of our Crucial goes TU so we will have some back-up Ram.

Did you get all that.

256mb here. Personally, I have no use for more. Hell, I probably don't use what I have. ;)

512MB Crucial CAS2 PC133 RAM here.

Of course it's overkill but who cares when it only cost me $169 with free shipping
