Poll: How many times do you use a razor before you throw it out?

I generally use mine somewhere between 10 times or more, not sure if this is the best length of time to keep a blade but it helps to cut down on buying more too often.

I tend to shave about every other day, but every blue moon my beard grows really fast and I have to shave everyday. I have a friend who shaves in the morning and once after work and if he stays out late he can probably shave a third time. (I don't envy him :laugh🙂

I use a Mach3 blade
 
If it's a cheap 2 blade razor they're pretty much gone after 5 times, more expensive razors seem to last a LOT longer though.
 
Mach 3 Turbo & I get roughly 15 shaves out of it provided I shave at most every other day ... if however I let my beard grow in a few times for like 3-4 days it'll cut way down on the blades useful life & I might get as few as 5 or 6.
 
I think this poll needs a more broader range of numbers. Most people are gonna vote 6+ here if they're using Mach 3/Fusion blades...

Dang, I use mach3 turbo, shave every day and I change the blades once every 3 months. I had no idea people cycled thru the blades so quickly. My first mach3 turbo I changed the battery before I changed the blade.
 
I guess I never counted, but I don't go through them very often. I use Mach 3 blades and I'll usually swap out once the little blue bar is almost completely gone. By that point they don't shave quite as well and start to irritate things.

I also hate shaving with brand new razors. I think I need "broken in" razors. They work best after a shave or two.

3 months? Are you 12 man 😀

For me I get about 4-5 uses out of each. I use those cheap blue Gilette blades.
 
A cheap razor I discard after 2 uses.

A Gillette Fusion I can squeeze a few weeks per blade before it gets uncomfortable.
 
I use a Norelco on most days, but at times, I'll use a Mach 3 turbo if I need a really good shave. Because I use it so infrequently, I get anywhere from 5 to 15 shaves before I feel the performance dropping. The key to long life is to make sure tbe blade is really dry.
 
I use the Sensor still, change blades monthly, shave daily, yeah I'm a cheap bastard with a light beard.
 
I use a Feather "No-Sharpen" razor, made in Japan. If you use throwaways try drying them after use to prolong lifespan.

The OP waits for 10 or more times, but his poll only goes to 6+?

i usually throw it out when the little strips start wearing away on my mach3.
 
With the ridiculous prices they charge for blades I use the blades until that little orange strip at the top is gone.
 
I have used the same razor for years..a real mans razor a Dovo Straight Razor with Pearl Handle....You guys and these disposable / expensive crap ...tsk tsk...

Aren't you supposed to change the blades in a straight razor pretty often?
