Yup... both sides are open at the moment cuz I had to take out my ^&@# floppy drive b/c the ribbon cable got unplugged.

Usually close it only for transportation or to keep visitors fingers out of it :)

Years ago, I had machines all over the room. There were atleast 3 of them in my tiny little room... Wires all over. Back then I used to keep the cases off all of them 'cuz their hardware was being swapped like crazy. Never had a problem leaving it open... except once I closed it without looking & a real live mouse had gotten in, & got decapitated by the fan... I noticed the stink 2 days later & removed the case & almost puked...

Case closed. I am afraid of accidentally shoving my foot into the case or having a dust bunny invasion.

Open because I change something every couple of months and I also see inside it everytime I come into my room so I will notice when it is getting a little dusty. Then I just blow it out.

I leave mine closed, even though it'd make things cooler and more convenient to leave it open.

Oh no wait, I thought you were talking about pants.

Personally I think leaving the case open is a stoopid idea, runs too hot, get better cooling.

Personally I think wasting money on cooling while opening the case will do the trick is a stoopid idea. hungry? buy something to eat instead of a case fan.

I only leave it open for convience when i am changing or configuring my system. Most of the time I keep it closed to allow the fans to circulate a cool airflow.

I'm guilty. I leave the side panels off my #2 rig only cuz I have never hooked up the case fans. I'll do it some day soon tho.

I leave one side open, usually because I'm too lazy to screw it on and off.

Is it ok to remove my CPU fan and blow a giant 12" fan with with the side of my case open? I'm pretty sure I can get away with the intake case fans, but not the CPU fan. I think the PS is pretty quiet. Man I configured this system to be quiet, but it's still too loud for me.

I do because I have a total of 0 case fans.

It's only a celeron 500 so not that big a deal.
