Between 115-120 in my friend's Prelude, driving x-country. We were in the middle of Kansas or something.
Could have gone faster but we were loaded down with all his stuff on our way back to college.

Around 135mph on my brothers GSXR-750, that bike was fun!

Longest spell of increased speed was from near Saskatoon SK. down to North Portal(border crossing), I set the cruise in my GrandAm GT at 100mph - we made good time.🙂

@175 on my 99 ninja zx-9r. My friend had one just like it but different color and we would hold them at those speeds for quite some time on select nites. Usually the only spot we could do that was the Greenway in Orlando out by the airport. The only work it had done was full Muzzy exhaust and jetting.

Trailoring I've done 105mph with an 8000lb car trailor down I-15 on my way to Vegas 😉

Edit: typo 4 for a 5 😉

Pollin' a trailer at 105? You sir, are insane.

140 in my 3G Eclipse GT. Only performance mod so far is CAI. Will be doing AMSS headers + Apexi S-AFC (tuned on a Dyno) in the next month to gain 40+ horsepower to the tires. Damn factory headers suck in this car. After mod, I've been told 145-150mph is a resonable speed to achieve.

105-110 on my 250 Ninja. It's been awhile since I've had her up to those kinda speeds so I'm not exactly sure what the topend is. Those speeds are accurate to within 1% though. The 250 has a very small displacement engine, but it's still pretty fricken quick. If I weren't selling the bike, I would be sending the engine off to have it blueprinted and ported. I would rather use the money to purchase things for my car though. 🙂

My car's speedometer stops at 85. I've not gone past 80 because the engine starts to rev really high at that point. Yay for old cars.

Okay, who has been driving McLaren F1s? SEVEN people (at the time of this posting) have driven over 200mph?!?

Edit: I've gone 115-120mph twice, each time in a different BMW 540i 🙂

Hate to tell you that the McLaren F1 isn't the only thing on the road that'll go that fast. as Hayabusarider would now, there are some INSANE bikes out there. I've seen turbo charged Hayabusas WITH NOS :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q

Yes that is true, but i've yet to see one of these 200+MPH speed demons post in the thread describing their experience.

What car or bike?

I think there's a bit of BS here - a lot of these cars will never go that fast without a radical mod including complete custom gearing.

I could get my old Mustang GT up to about 135 (calculated from tach - 85 mph speedometer)

My Suzuki GS1100 would touch 140. I did that one night on a concrete highway. I started feeling a periodic rev surge and thought the clutch might be about to blow. Then I realized I was getting airborn at each expansion strip. Stock suspensions are not meant for those speeds.

i had an 87 Honda Interceptor 700 limited that i hit 140 on multiple times, once racing a Mustang GT on the highway during the day, in traffic. (ya, stupid)

i got hit head on and it got totaled, i took the insurance money and bought an 89 GSXR 750, and i hit 153 on Airport road in Daytona beach at night (so said the speedo) before i ran out of road 😉

fastest i've ever been in a car was probably just a little over 100, maybe 115

oh, and as to the 200mph questions...i downloaded a movie from consumptionjunction.com this guy took on a bike with a video camera on the gas tank so you could see the speedo. it hit at least 180.

Big difference between 180 and 200 though. On a closed run, hit 197, but was never able to get that 3 mph out of my bike
