Ok title says all, list system specs and all. Boot up time from when windows splash screen first pops up and until all programs in windows have loaded in startup menu.
my new system is like 30 secs.. once everything is finished and running good ill try to tweak it I guess but it doesn't really bother me to wait a few seconds
k6-2 500

Seagate 4.3 gig hd
Voodoo 3 2000 pci
Creative Blaster
Creative 52x CD ROM
+ something I won at the county fair...
I can boot into Windows ME from after pushing the power button in about 13 seconds. It would be about 7 or 8 seconds, but my FastTrack66 controller takes some time to boot.
Edit: Oh, I didn't see you ask "After the Windows splash screen first shows".... in that case... 5 seconds. Really! Windows ME is that fast at booting.
Whoa! you guys must be kidding, It takes me about a minute to boot mines. The last issue of MaxPC i saw (October 99) had PCs booting up in 1:35. Are you all using WinME? is that FastBoot feature that good?
Takes me forever (about 2-3 mins) to boot this crap up probably because I boot mice manager and norton Antivirus2000 and RC5 and ICQ and a bot program under WIN2K. Config:
Soyo 6aba+iv
p3 500@750
256MB 150MB HSDRAM
ASUS Geforce ddr v6800
Quantum 20.5gb KX (POS)
on board HPT366 ATA 66 controller (seems to hang for about 1 year before finding ZIP drive... BTW 4 drives all master on ATA33 or ATA66)
remember Alpha, that he is counting AFTER the windows screen appears. Most of the counts I have seen are counting from power on, including all post memory checks, device scanning, SCSI bios scan, ATA 66 / 100 bios Scan.... etc. etc.
