Completely agree.

I download the forms from the IRS site and fill them in. I run through Schedule A to see how itemizing compares to the standard deduction. It is usually better for me to take the standard deduction in which case I fill out the EZ form and send it in. This year I get an energy efficiency credit so I have to fill out the long form, even though I will take the standard deduction, so a whole lot of blank lines.

CPA. He is really good and saves me money every year (and I do not ask him how ;) ).

Ironically, my retired CPA father-in-law uses Turbotax.

None of the above.
For federal taxes, I find a website which allows me to file for free.
For state, I file at Pennsylvania's website.
For local, I fill out the tax form.

I used to have an accountant but the last few years I've used Taxcut & did them myself.

My dad's a CPA so I picked:

I have an accountant (or "tax guy") who does them for me

Next time you want to know talk to a CPA who specializes in tax, particularly one with a Masters in Taxation. There can be grey areas but a halfway competent tax CPA should be able to give you some assurance as to the treatment of any given situation.
