Poll: How Computer savvy do you think you are?

Just curious as to what the average person is here. I've always assumed that most were better then average computer users, but some people here have just been stupid before (myself included ) and blown my image of the average AT'er. So leave your bashfulness/modesty behind and be honest. How knowledgeable do you view yourself / others view you pertaining to computers?

I don't always know the science behind them, but I can generally spot the location of a problem quickly.

I've been breaking and fixing my computers since 1992.

Although, my current system runs without problems 90% of the time.

I answered genius...

We had a motto at my former job - tech support for an ISP - "If we can't fix it, it can't be fixed." I went away from that job with so much knowledge about how to fix things that I believe I can fix anything that can break on a computer (which is everything...) Plus I know a lot of programming languages and I think I can teach myself any language I don't know. People know I know a lot about computers and they come to me with questions. I am webmaster at two different websites, the "computer guy" at my church, and I have bult and rebuilt all the computers I personally own.

I don't really know if all this qualifies me as a genius, but that was my answer to the question!

I know enough that I can fix most of the problems that I cause. I like to say that I know enough to look like a genius to an average user, but not enough to keep me from looking like a complete moron to an advanced user. (Also known as the "I know just enough to get me in trouble." level.)

Anyone calling themselves a genius is deluding themselves. If you work with computers you learn humility quickly. There are very few computer "geniuses" in this world, and I assure you the few that do exsist don't waste thier time posting on ATOT.

To consider myself a genious I would have to be proficient or even ....completely fluent in all aspects of computing stemming from understanding chip/wafer manufacturing, electrics, physics of the materials, networking (tcp/ip/wireless/ipx/ethernet/etc etc etc), Programming languages (all the major ones), Web languages, and knowledge of all major operating systems in an out (Linux, Unix, MS software).

There are so many things to learn about that I doubt anybody in this world is a computing genious. To be able to troubleshoot any computer and program is fine but how many of us can do e v e r y t h i n g extremely well?

As a PC enthusiast or hobbyist, I may be a genius (along with a significant portion of the AnandTech community). But it's not like I could design a circuit board or a CPU. I don't design and fabricate and engineer PC components.

But to the people that hire me and my relatives and my friends, I'm a computer genius.

Compared to the idiots that come to me asking for help cause they can't figure out how to copy and paste, or they stuck the USB cable into the ethernet jack and thier printer doesnt work, or who think that when AIM signs off they're disconnected from the internet, I'm a fricking genious.

Computer user since around the age of 7 (started with the Apple's, NOT the Macintosh). Around 13, a PC was introduced into my life with 4 megs of ram, DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.0. So, in terms of PC computer knowledge, when it relates to x86 itself; been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.
