There is really no point in TSX.
wrong number of cylinders, and wrong wheels driven for it's market segment.
No, the Volvo S40, Audi A4, and Saab 9-3 are all competitors in this segment. The TSX is exactly right for it's market segment. Similar size and performance.

This is a low volume segment, and I doubt Honda sells more than 15-18,000 in the U.S. this year. Which is pretty much what they estimated.

A shame the TSX is not for sale here.... 🙁

Maybe next year when the NAFTA cars treaty enters in full swing we could get that beauty here..... I voted TSX, not even a contest!
If you want power, get a Subaru WRX, or a similar car such as one we have here, the SEAT León Cupra R...... But if you want the best blend of luxury, handling, performance and class, the TSX is the car to get north of the border...... 😀

Where do you live that the TSX is the best blend of luxury, handling, performance, and class?

Check my profile.... ah, and in case I missed it, I should have pointed that my statement applies to cars below $30k USD.... happy?

Don't forget to factor in the better dealer service with Acura. That's a big deal for me at least.

Another thing to note is that the Accord (at least in my area) has been going for around 3Gs less than MSRP (my friend just got EX V6 with sunroof no nav for $23k)

So it is going to be noticeably cheaper than the new TSX which is pretty much selling at MSRP since it still is a newer car. I'd rather buy a WRX for 23k or 350Z for 26k but that's not in the same segment.

I voted TSX... I don't like big boat of a car.

EDIT: better dealer service?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA
Some Honda dealers are also Acura dealers in my area... the quality of the technicians didn't vary very much.

None of the Acura or Honda dealers in my friend's area knew how to properly rebuild my friend's H22A ('00 Prelude S) or even diagnose the problem. They said it sounded fine after they rebuilt it even though there was a ton of stuff outside of factory spec. Engine failed again after 2k miles and Honda USA had to step in to make sure the work was done right. They blamed the problem with the engine on a CARB legal cold air intake.

Why do people think that just because things are a certain way where they are, it must be the same everywhere else?

In my area, the acura dealer's management were aholes, so we went to the honda place down the street(same owner) and bought an acura from a honda guy who contested he worked both places....

My mom has a 2003 Accord EX V6 (silver)... and damn is it nice! THey didn't get the $2000 navigation system though 🙁

That's a lot of money for a mere 200 horsepower. I'd either drop $3k more and buy a g35 sedan with the 6 speed (bitch-smack both of these cars), or get the 6 speed accord.

yay, a chintzi G35...the 2 doors are nice, 4 doors are fugly... good luck finding base models. I'd rather have the TSX. If you want speed, go buy a WRX, Evo, ST-4, or whatever is cheaper...this segment is about a whole slew of things, not speed. the G35 may be faster, but a care costing a lot less could beat it...

They still don't have their kinks worked out. If you've ever worked at a company trying to meet deadlines for product intros while leaving a "TO DO" list on the table, you'll know what I mean. Get a used BMW with 2-3 years on it. It's better than both cars and you won't get raped with the valuation.
We're talking about Hondas here, that figure is NOW WHERE near 25% - maybe if you were buying a domestic vehicle, but hot a Honda.
I just checked Edmund's "True Cost to Own" numbers on the Accord EX V6 Sedan and their expected depreciation in year 1 is about 22.7%.

Yea, but driving it off of the lot and a year of ownership are TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.

I know, who wants a base model G35 without leather, etc :disgust:

I understand that, but that was the only number I could find. I would guess that a big chunk of that occurs as soon as you drive it off the lot. Depreciation curves are EXTREMELY steep in the first year or two of ownership.

All I'm saying is that not even a Honda or a Toyota avoids a big depreciation hit when buying new. It's not as bad as it would be with other makes, but it's still a big hit.

I like the smoothness of power delivery found in a six cylinder engine. Now, if the tsx came with a six, i'd be all over it.

For those who voted without knowing....I suggest you go down to your Honda dealership and check out a 2003+ Accord EX.
These aren't the same Accord that we all know....the quality is just as good as the TSX.
Its just that the styling of the TSX makes the decision difficult.

I still would pick an Accord coupe 6MT vs. a TSX manual.
As sedan goes, TSX all the way.
