POLL: Honda Accord EX V-6 vs. Acura TSX.

Let me give you the quick run down:

Accord 240hp vs. TSX 200hp
Accord reccommend regular fuel vs TSX recommend premium.

You know where I'm getting at right.

Both are about $26,450 bases and has about the same features:

ABS brakes
Leather
Same fuel economy
Sunroof
Dual climate control
Blah blah....

I must admit though I like the outside apperance of the TSX alot better.
But the Accord beats it in every other ways......even the interior of the Accord is luxury-like.

Now only if they put the Accord engine in the TSX and priced it the same.......now thats a must buy.
 
Some people pay up a bit for labeling/look. My coworker has a TSX, she loves it, and me having to park next to it makes me drool even though I just bought a 2003 accord.

Oh yeah, the TSX has HIDs and a longer factory warranty.

 
Saw a black TSX today... very nice... i like it more just because there's not that many around yet... not as many as the Accord at least.
 
it has better handling, better sound system, it has more luxury, better tires, better brakes... it has a more overall solid feel to it that the accord doesnt have.

BTW, no accord V6 weighs 3000 lbs. It's actually closer to 3300.

That is just silly man......you could have gotten the 2003 with the navigation system also.
And how easy is it to get XM...maybe $200 at most ??

 
What about the TSX's potential resale value compared to the history of Accord's ? Anyone know ?

All facts presented, I'd still get the TSX over the Accord because of styling and uniqueness on the road.

You're right....the V6 weights around 3380lb.

Yeah the one thing the TSX has going for it is the styling....I love the styling.
I'd still take the Accord and its 240hp though.

I asked for the 2003 with navigation system but they didn't have it. I'm talking about the sedan not the coupe.
 
1) Slightly more upscale nameplate.
2) Sportier suspension.
3) Better looks, IMO.
4) Quieter and better dampened interior - less noise.

I would recommend checking your weight figures again, because the Accord with the V6 weighs over 3200lbs.

The 2003 sedans were available with navigation.
Maybe you bought it so early that they didn't have it readily available.
And no I don't want yours 🙂 My sister just bought exactly like yours and I got to play with it....hence the poll.

 
I pretty much agree with what everyone saying about the TSX but the bottom line is don't you feel cheated after paying the same amount for a car with the same features as an Accord but comes with an inferior engine ??

You're paying for the nameplate.

I just bought my car about a month ago. They told me honda didn't make many of them with the navi so it might be hard to find and they didn't have it in their lot.

I don't see how you can say the engine is inferior. Technology wise, it's just as good if not better than the V6. No the peak number is not as high, but then by that logic, the V6 is inferior to a semi truck's. V6s vs I4s mess up vehicle weight balance/distribution and handling. Also, published mileage numbers are not always accurate.


 
Accord v6 240HP - 6MT > TSX I4 200HP - MT

If you get ur v6 6MT, you can easily blow out ALL TSX till the TSX gets the 3.2 v6 upgrade

I didn't mean it so literally.
Seriously, a $26,000 car with 200hp/166torque engine is a crime.
Even though thats plenty to push this car.......don't you want that ooommph....when you need it ??
 
Personally, I don't care about the nameplate unless it's some german cars. I automatically translate Acura into Honda, Infinity into Nissan, and Lexus into Toyota.

No replacement for displacement.
There is really no point in TSX.
wrong number of cylinders, and wrong wheels driven for it's market segment.
