See sig. Soon to have a Lite-On LTD-16301 DVD drive and possibly an Alpha PAL8045 to replace the SK-6. Video card will most likely be upgraded soon too.

I built mine but I was looking around at alienware.com and noticed they've got some pretty sweet stuff there. The only reason i'd buy a computer from them is because they look so damn cool. Pretty much everything can be color customized now, not just case, keyboard, and mouse. The monitor and speakers can also be color customized depending on which monitor or speaker system you choose. If i had a lot of money I would spend it to have my computer look that cool and to have peace of mind with a warrantee, tech supp. etc.

Yes, if I had money out my ass - I would also buy an Alienware :) If money was no iobject, I would spend $8000 on an ALienware Dualie w/ 4 15k rpm drives, etc. :)

If you're hanging around here, the only excuse I can think of for a store bought machine is, it's the one you had before you got here, and you haven't gone to your next one, yet, or your primary machine is a lappy. ;)

My first computer was Commodore 64 (way back when it first came out), then a few years later we bought a used Leading Edge 386. I haven't purchased a pre-built system since...
