I'd hope not considering I've never had sex (any kind including anything the president would do). It would be totally unfair, like gaining 20 pounds from eating brocolli or something.

I went to the doc cause I was suspicious about why my faucet was dripping but he said, "Nope, you're just using it too much." Washer anyone?

Not me. About 10 years ago I remember getting a phone call call from an old GF who said she had just got home from the doctors and that I needed to come over so she could tell me something. That was the longest 20 minute drive I had ever taken.. She had genital warts but I luckily never got them. I have been tested since then. ;)

Has some one mentioned that you can have HIV and not have the symptoms for almost 10 years? I didn't read the second page.. Also there is no cure for herpes, with VD you can take penicilin but herpes is with you forever. :frown:

I once read an article that said that over 90% of people in the US had herpes. Then it went on to explain that Chicken Pox was a herpes virus, so were Cold Sores, so was Mono... and a few others. After they listed them all, I could see where they could say that 90% of people has A herpes virus, though not THE virus we would normally think of.

Isla, I work as a medical professional (cytotech to be precise) and I can vouch for HPV being an epidemic. If you are sexually active and have had more than one partner chances are you are a carrier of the virus. About 90% of the abnormal Paps I have screened have features of HPV....the virus can eventually cause cervical cancer (depends on the strain).
It's also a VERY good idea to be innoculated against Hepatitis B...I've seen people affected with it and it's not fun. :(

EDIT: Just because you don't exhibit symptoms of HPV or hepatitis doesn't mean that you could potentially be a carrier of the disease!

Descartes, not at all, though if someone does have a std they should share that information with anyone they may becoming intimate with. I have several friends, both male and female, that have Herpes and the response when they tell someone is usually not negative. It is such a widespread "affliction" that I think most active people just assume at some point they are going to get it. Especially since actual sex is not even neccassary, physical contact is enought to transmit it.

In answer to the question, no, never had one (std)

Nothing here - thats one of the nice things about having been a virgin who married a virgin - we are the only ones we've ever had! :)

Technically, you could be a virgin and have an std. Just physical contact or rubbing is enough to transmit herpes if there is an outbreak at the time.
