A few times in grade school.

In HS, there were some incidents with the principal. I got referral or whatever they were called at the time once. It was because someone in the career center changed MS Word to auto correct "the" and "to" to be "Andrew was here".

So the teacher in there gave me one and sent me to the office even after informing her I had nothing to do with it.

So I went and talked to the principal and told him I didn't do it, but he didn't believe me. I then said that if I was going to do it, I wouldn't be stupid enough to put my own name on it, and also that there were several other kids named Andrew that frequently used the computers there. He still insisted that since it was my name that I did it.

So I said, well if I leave and go back and change them to "(Insert principals name here) was here" - would that automatically mean that he did it? He didn't like that. It was so retarded, no matter how much logic I tossed out at this guy I still ended up with that referral.

I also got a referral from a computer teacher because I knew more about the curriculum than she did, and I was always correcting her when she would teach something that was incorrect, and would argue and she would just get upset that I was more knowledgeable about her class than she was. So I got one for arguing with her about it once. Lame.

Detention? Regular inmate. I graduated with a 3.2 average with enough credits to graduate 2 people, played in the band, played football and went to state twice. If you're not bucking the system, you're not alive!

Yup. It was bullshit though; I got caught "stealing" candy out of Valentines cards. What a crock of shit.

Of course, there were also several fights, skipping school, swearing at the teacher, throwing chairs at a teacher, choke slamming a student, walking out of class mid-lecture, participating in a massive class pants drop... And yet, I never got in more trouble than I did for the fucking Valentines. Middle school was so fucked up.

At least once a week all during seventh grade. I had one teacher who hated me and would take every opportunity to punish me. It wasnt so bad because i would steal stuff from her.

Detention once in Elemetary school... can't even tell you why, it was something stupid.

I had in school suspention once in middle school for throwing a kid on the grow and walking away. He pushed into a locker and I wasn't having any of that.

Plenty of times and always for the same reason: Letting other people cheat off of me in the form of copying tests or homework or simply doing their homework or papers for money.

Yes. I always skipped my detentions and let them snowball into a half-day of inschool suspension where I could catch up on sleep/homework.

I've spent my time in detention in high school.

After becoming a teacher, I ran a detention hall for a year during one period. The same students would show up. I told them this was a preview of their future life in prison. Looking at the remnants of a once functioning TV; I reminded them that in prison a guy named Bubba would choose the channels for them and that they'd let him.

When it was boring, I'd massage my scalp above my ears. It would appear as though my hair was moving up and down. Students would take notice. I'd ask them in strict confidence if they could tell I was wearing a toupee. They'd always say "No."

At the school assemblys the detention group would all hang out together above the bleechers. They were all pointing at me and laughing. I gave my hair a few tugs and laughed. You see, I don't wear a toupee. All my hair is real.

In 5th grade my art teacher gave the same half of the class detention every week. We called her the Art Nazi. Luckily for me, I sat on the other side of the classroom. One day she gave the entire class detention but I happened to be out sick. I'm sure if I was there I would have gotten it too. She was a terrible teacher who couldn't control the class.

The one time I did get detention it was also a class-wide punishment. It was in library class in what must have been 5th grade. Apparently too many people were talking so the entire class had to stay after school. I sat down and read a magazine for 30 minutes.

But seriously, library class? Wtf is that? More like teacher needs a 40 minute break so take these kids away from me class and have them babysat in an quiet environment so they won't be too much trouble. I probably would have been better off not attending 2-7 grade and just stay home and read.

I did some other things that I probably should have gotten detention for but only received a stern talking to. This was in high school though which overall made a lot more sense than middle school.

My Spanish teacher started putting on movies for us to watch every class. After about 10 classes of it I jokingly said something about her being lazy. She got really offended and I got detention. Turns out she had breast cancer and was weak from chemo :(

Yeah, I've been once to all day detention. It was during the last weeks of middle school in 8th grade and we had to write a story for English. She said we could write whatever we wanted in our group and just to be creative. Well, I had a very creative mind back then and I wrote about some questionable things. The main parts of the story features things like kidnapping, teachers, schools, guerrilla warfare, taking the budget for the school and buying nuclear weapons, etc. Needless to say, the VP wasn't impressed and he told me to go to all day detention for it (along with everyone else)

He called home and told my mom, she didn't understand at all considering it was creative writing, not some threat or anything. That was the only time in my entire life I ever was disciplined in school. I did nothing in that room the entire day. In some ways it was a lot better than being in class, you didn't have to learn anything and you could just zone out. FK school administrators and their retarded policies.

In 1st grade I got in trouble for coloring the moon gray when we where supposed to color it yellow. WTF >_<

The other time that I remember is like the OP's. It was "silent work time" (this was in 7th grade, middle school) and some kid come up and grabs my pencil off my desk. I tell him to give it back and I get in trouble. I was supposed to come in at lunch but it was like pudding day or something so I said screw that. The teacher came looking for me at lunch but I swapped my shirt and hat so he never found me.

I did a lot of other stuff that I should have gotten detention for but I knew that complete ins and outs of that school and sometimes the videos would go missing.
