I have a couple of patents in electronics. I have had the funny experience of having people tell me that what I claimed my circuits would do was theoretically impossible.
I would hand them the circuit and ask them to measure what it does. You get the strangest looks from folks when you smile and suggest that there is a flaw either in their theory or in my working hardware.
If it comes to a conflict, I'll take working hardware and proven science over anyone's theory, anytime. That includes "theories" and speculation about deities.

And for those who claim science only, has science ever proven that God doesn't exist? 200 years ago, flight of man was considered impossible, but that theory was proven incorrect.

duke, that's not necessarily true. Assume for the moment that there is not God (which I do not believe). The nature of man is a result of evolution and surviving in this world. One of the traits that has allowed humans to survive and thrive is their curiosity. Curiosity leads to invention of tools which promote our survival. And as it has already been stated, curiosity leads to science.
