Gas Logs???? LOL, the only people who need gas logs are morons who don't know how to build a fire in a fireplace and draft it properly. Your inner boyscout would be ashamed...
I'm now convinced people without gas logs are morons who don't know how to plumb a gas line to their fireplace! Guess they don't teach that in the Boy Scouts, eh?

:D

gas looks nice and is less messy.

however, it barely emits any heat compared to a wood burning fireplace.

I disagree, young grasshopper, the gas logs I have encountered made me leave the room they were so damn hot!

indeed

my parents had gaslogs in a couple pf their homes, plenty of heat from them

theyre building one now...my dad saw some "electric" gas logs at home depot or lowes or somewhere

cheap ass electric heater with fake logs AND fake fire, and he actually considered getting them. i wouldnt let him, silly bastard

All you arguments are rather funny....gas or wood depends on many factors.

Is the fireplace going to be used for heat or decoration?
How often will you be using it?
What area of the country do you live in?
If the fireplace or stove going to be your primary source of heat?
