Gandalf > Saruman

Did everyone forget how Saruman had busted out the lightning action just by yelling from atop Isengard?? Or how about when Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas thought he was Saruman and tried to attack him? Wave of the hand and the bow/arrow, axe, and sword were tossed to the side. And they were blinded by the light. Oh, not to mention the Balrog.....

Lethal

And lets not forget he did it while in a near-endless freefall....

Isn't Yoda 900+? In FOTR, there was no mention of Gandalf in the first war with Sauron. So I'm assuming he's mortal. In any case, they're both mortal, but Yoda has the longer life expectancy. Anyone remember what species Yoda is?

Oh, how I can't resist the pull of a "Cheers" thread.;)

Are we talking about Galf the Grey or Gandalf the White? Isn't Gandalf (the White) supposed to be a demi-god? Anybody who can return from the dead wins hands down.:D

I remember reading Gandalf saying that he was around for millennia.

Yes, gandalf was around long before the founding of middle-earth.

Gandalf is much older than yoda. And if Gandalf were truly mortal, and yoda were going all out, then yoda wins. If its alive, then the force can reach it, and yoda can kick its ass.

Gandalf (along with the other wizards) came to Middle Earth some 2,000 years before LOTR. He's a lot older than that though, as a Maia he came into existence before the world was created (which would make him at least 37,000 years old?).

Star Wars > LOTR. I seen LOTR and it seems like utter madness to me now. I did read the book when I was a kid but didn't like it.

My childhood wants to say yoda, but my older, more badass self wants to say gandolf the white. Both of them have the force, and can stoplightning bolts and fire, but yoda's light saber can probably slice through gandolf's poll.

I am going to have to say Gandalf. He (in the story) has lived for much longer than Yoda, so he would have more wisdom, and plus he is like uber powerful.

Too easy. Yoda by a mile.

I think a BETTER question would be: Who would win, Sauron with the ring of power or Yoda.

And I still say Yoda kicks his ass.

Why is everyone saying Yoda isn't immortal, didn't you watch ROTJ? He may not have a body anymore, but he's hardly dead.

What no one understands, is that your Bladder-Master attack kills those that claim immortality. No one is immune!!!!

He joined the force. He will not always be able to manifest himself like at the very end of ROTJ though. His "essence" wille eventually fade.

I thought they were dead, no? Like "force spirits" or something.

At any rate, if any of the Jedi are brought back from the dead then I'd say they might have a chance.
