Poll: Do you use the fading effects of Windows 2000?

The alpha blending also has the capability to make a window with a constant amount of translucency. This means that if you drag it over your desktop, it will sorta show through what's underneath it. I've experimented with this a little in Visual Basic, but have never come across any commercial apps that use it, aside from WindowFX et al who apply the effects to other windows of your choice.

the fading is a "neat" feature but I'm a cpu junkie I've turned it off becuase I want the CPU cycles..
no matter how minor

I tried WindowFX but it ran like poo on the work machine I was running at the time AND the translucent menus drove me nuts! I don't want to see the stuff below the menu shining through. It makes it too hard to see the menu.

Otherwise, I have the default fade/shadow stuff on. It's nice and the occasional times the pointer goes "Vegas" is cool.

i use them...for some reason when i go back to using no fading it feels like there's something missing

Have them both off.. Seems like no point to have them on, and they waste my precious RC5 cycles! :eek:
