Hell yes!

You should see the lamp next to my PC get really freaking bright when the washing machine, dryer or disposal turns on. For a second or so, it looks just like someone switched on another light. Not to mention that the lights occasionally get dim for a moment or two. It's a relatively new house but something just aint right with the wiring....

Cyberpower 1000 AVR. Peace of mind.

(by the way, when checking your Cyberpower unit for a model number, NEVER, EVER accidentally push the little red button......kinda defeats the whole purpose) ;)

heh, oops.

I have two Connexant 900VAs. One is on my server and I think it's overloaded (7 HDs and an Athlon 1.1GHz). It doesn't seem to keep the computer running if I pull the power to test it. Sometimes I wonder if i should just take it off. I do have one on my main rig though and It works great.

I have a really small one, but I don't run my computer on it. It's too weak to power my CRT (19") and my main rig (Kassidy in sig), so I use it to run my fishtank pumps when the power goes out. I think I need something like a 1500VA or something. And I need like 3 of them. One for the rig+monitor, one for my amp and network equipment, and another for the HT equipment.

Yes, APC Back-Ups 1500XS. Massive unit, insanely cool, lots of peace-at-mind. I get about 40 minutes of power with everything on my desk plugged in! (Dell XPS Gen4, LCD, speakers, printer, etc) Granted, it's a bit overkill, but I got it at a good price. :p

Yes, ever since I was downloading a huge file (on Dialup) and just before it was going to finish, a car hit a telphone pole down the road and my lights blinked a little and that was the end of my HD, within an hour, it was toast.

I've had three of them, all APCs, each bigger than the last one, I think the one I have now is a 1000w one, but I may be wrong. My last one got nailed by a huge lightning strike out in my yard, and it was smoked! The modem in the PC connected to it was gone, but the PC booted and runs ok with the same odd crashes it had before the hit. The UPS was all black in the back, and the phone cord was cooked, black and crispy, and the phone cord plug had melted into the UPS so it couldn't be removed. It was about time for a battery, so I wasn't too upset about it.

My friends have had good luck with both APC and Triplite.

I have an APC BackUPS 650, but I think it needs a new battery, so I'm probably going to get this Belkin 1500VA UPS to replace it.

I just got a Belkin 550 VA ups. I recently moved to an old house and we had a storm the other day, and the power was on and off the whole time, even though everyone else around us was fine... I'm only gonna be living here for a year so it's not worth it for me to have it fixed, but a ups I can keep using after I move.
Doing a deep test with the provided software, my monitor, computer (sig), cell phone, and logitech speakers have lasted 10 minutes so far, with 32% remaining.
