Yep. Losing an important file or corrupting a Windows file because of a 3 second power outage sucks.

Yes

APC 800va for my rig, and an APC 725va for my LCD and Cable modem, and router.

I get power outages quite often where I live so it's nice to have. I think it turned on for a total of 10 times last year and 9 the year before (more or less).

the more experience you have with electricity, the more you understand why you NEED a UPS..

Yes, APC BackUPS Pro 1100. The electricity in my house is not the best, and the line conditioning on this UPS is comforting.

I like to gamble at Atlantic City, so "no" not at this time, though I should look into it.

Yes - both PCs each have their own (Cyberpower), and my Internet hardware (cable modem, router, switch) also have a small UPS (APC, rebate deal). The damn things are addicting. And you'll really love a UPS when the power fails during a BIOS flash.

U am going to get a better one for the server and move the little one to my main rig.

I'm thinking of getting at least a 5 minute UPS. Just enough time for a clean shutdown (attended or unattended) should the power go out (which it does 2 or 3 times a year).

By-the-way, OMGWTFBBQ, what does the BBQ stand for?

I used to have one, but now whenever the power goes out it makes some insane beeping and everything turns off anyways. I'm sure its the battery, but I don't think there is a way to replace it. Gotta get a new one...
