Just wanted to know because I was in downtown LA today and there were some corporate highballs clearing their pocket change by thowing away the pennies on the street. Made me sick alittle; part of me wanted to slap them, the other half wanted to pick the pennies up ;)

No, I put all my change (pennies included) into a change jar. When the jar is full I cash it in to buy video games, CDs, movies, etc.

Right in front of them or when they were gone... keep in mind that this was downtown LA... lots of people and I bet a bum would've fought me for it :)

I don't usually throw them away, but sometimes I like leaving them stacked in odd places for others to find.

I have a whole jar full of all sorts of coins, including pennies, that I plan on cashing in and using the cash for gambling this weekend :)

If I'm out, and I know I won't be home for a while, I'll probably leave the small change on the counter...I hate having change in my pockets, unless it's a dime or quarter. I have a little box full of quarters (along with a huge piggy bank), for those impulse arcade-trips :)

I just keep them in a jar and cash them in when it gets full. It may not be a lot of money, but it adds up over time.

I keep 'em! Like several others, I keep a change jar (wine carafe) that I fill with all of my loose change. I never carry change unless it's from a prior purchase earlier that day. At the end of the day, it all goes in my jar. When it's full, I roll the silver coins and take the pennies to the grocery store to have the money counting machine tally up what I have and then use the penny money on  :D.

Don't put your silver in those change machines! They charge 7-9% of your total! For pennies, it's not worth the effort to count and roll them. ;)

The average american has $50 worth of change laying around their house or a total of $6 billion. Maybe some day the government will have an "unused change tax" where the IRS walks around your house and picks up all loose change. :D

whenever I get change other than quarters I leave it on the counter or on the ground for someone to find. I probably should keep it but oh well...
