I save all of my pennies in a gallon-sized ziplock bag. Going straight into the little tikes college savings :p

What's the old adage.... "Many a mickel makes a muckle".

I got a 5 gallon water cooler bottle full of change right now, starting on a second. I figure it at over $500 bucks from about 2-3 years of just emptying my change in it at the end of every day.

CoinStar charges 9% to exchange coins for cash, so that's sort of like throwing 9 pennies away on the dollar.

Sometimes I accidentally drop them and am too lazy to pick them up, but otherwise I don't. I must have over 70 bucks in assorted coins that I want to be turned into cash.

Some banks will exchange your coins to cash for free if you have an account with them.

I collect them in a bottle with other change and cash them in once or twice a year. I'm glad I don't have to use quarters for my laundry. It's great to have my own washer and dryer. I can wash my clothes anytime I want.
