Yeah, I think that as vitamins get TOO old they merely lose potency, though I have no idea how fast...Originally posted by: Tominator

Stored properly, that is at room temp in dry conditions, I would not worry if a year old. I'm convinced some of those expiration dates are just to get you to through them away and buy new stock.

However, you end up pissing most of the vitamins away which makes for very expensive urine 😛
You should put them in your kitchen. I always have a routine that, when I eat lunch, I take a vitamin. It's just part of it and I always see the container all day so I never forget. Well, not often anyway.Originally posted by: datalink7

I'm sure you'll have a few people that say "If you eat correctly, there's no need for vitamins." They are correct, but unrealistic. I mean c'mon; who ACTUALLY eats five pieces of fruit, one piece of bread, a glass of milk and a piece of plain, unflavored chicken per day, everyday? Nobody I know.
I know that I don't eat right. I don't have the time. I usually have one huge meal and a snack per day. About four days a week, I'll drink a 16-oz bottle of orange juice. Four days a week, I pop a multivitamin right after my huge meal (lunch). I'm not dead yet, so I assume that I'm doing someting right!
I do. I still don't think that's entirely balanced. I also have very little time so I make "quick" dinner/lunches that consist of the following:
- "Natural" turkey with naturally aged swiss sandwich on 100% wheat bread
- An apple or two
- "Organic" cottage cheese (yah, I shop at the health food store)
That generally takes me about 5 minutes to make and I'd say it's pretty healthy. When I have more time I usually George Foreman an 8-10oz salmon filet and steam a whole bowl of vegetables. I still take a multi twice a day.
I still have several dinners a week where I eat a rather large italian meal, but I feel that I make up for it 🙂
