Yeah I used to take a multi, a B complex and 1-2 extra vitamins and minerals on top of it. I think E and C and then a couple of minerals, but then that was when I had a clue what they did and now that I've forgotten I just take a multi 🙁Originally posted by: Joemonkey

Whoo hoo! I think if I was out of shape and fat (you didn't say you were though) and ate like a horse and I smoked quiting the smoking is more important 🙂Originally posted by: compudog
Centrum 1X day. I still eat like a pig though. I quit smoking, so that is a step in the good health direction...

I've taken a multi-vitamin every single day for over 20 years. It's a part of my normal morning routine, along with a healthy breakfast.

I'm sure you'll have a few people that say "If you eat correctly, there's no need for vitamins." They are correct, but unrealistic. I mean c'mon; who ACTUALLY eats five pieces of fruit, one piece of bread, a glass of milk and a piece of plain, unflavored chicken per day, everyday? Nobody I know.
I know that I don't eat right. I don't have the time. I usually have one huge meal and a snack per day. About four days a week, I'll drink a 16-oz bottle of orange juice. Four days a week, I pop a multivitamin right after my huge meal (lunch). I'm not dead yet, so I assume that I'm doing someting right!
POLL: Do you take a multivitamin? If not a multivitamin your own custom mix of vitamins counts.
How do you know? As I prompted in the first post anytime I've been told not to take a multivitamin because if I eat properly I'll get all I need I have to say two things: 1) I don't eat right (and by right I mean perfectly), 2) Even if I wanted to I don't know how to eat right (as in perfectly getting perfect levels of all vitamins/minerals and macro nutrients).Originally posted by: cyclistca
I eat right.
They help give you vitamins. Whether that really helps you will depend on whether you have any deficiencies or not. Of course many people would say that the RDA guidelines are not ideal. Ie, they say 60 mg I believe of Vitamin C, when in actual fact the ideal diet may contain much more of that. In terms of which company to get I just get one a day probably because I like the name and don't know much else 😉Do multivitamins really help? What makes a good multivitamin?
