No. The difference is all equally benefit from a common defense. All do NOT equally benefit from sin taxes, welfare and socialized medicine.

The idea that the wealthy have more to lose in times of war or when facing death or the loss of right is simply ludicrous.

Their property is worth more.

I would probably be a lot more unhappy if my house and car was blown up than if my cardbox house was.

Dead is dead. Oppressed is oppressed. How much money one has matters little when facing loss of life or liberty.

The idea that it is somehow different is an idea only held by those with no wealth, in my experience. It's another symptom of class envy.

Money can buy you liberty in many cases.

But I agree that the loss of human life is equal tragic rich or poor, but those who own things does have more to loose than those who don't.

who is in control largely has little impact on those at the bottom. but of course, if someone new is in control at the top, then the ancien regime is not in control anymore. so obviously, they have lost something.

~24,000 people on Earth die everyday from hunger/malnutrition.
however, 20 years ago, that number was double, so one can only assume that death from hunger/malnutrition will be history in another 20 years. and probably for the 1st time in human history.
so who cares about letting another ~70million people starve to death?
