If you weren't bragging, then you were certainly fishing for compliments. Otherwise, why even post the screenshot? I thought I explained it... It seems like you're saying "Look at me! I'm good at this game!" Well, I happen to think I'm pretty good at the game, too. So when you say, "Look at how good I am," I think, "Who's this guy? Why does he think he's so good? Somebody should cut him down to size." Why do I think that? Because I'm over-competitive. I'm trying to change it, but it's still there.

Anyway, for some reason, NOBODY likes it when people toot their own horns. It's just not attractive. So from that one post, I get an unfavorable impression of you. I get the impression that you're a braggart. On top of that, I see that you're not as good as I am (if you post that score as one of your top scores). The combination of the two make me want to "put you in your place," as I said before.

Surely you can understand our competitive nature. I mean, you posted the screenshot...

Exactly. I have played Cs since the first beta 6(remember the 2nd one?) Anyways, I play in pubs every once in a while, but there is no way in hell that i would show off a pub score to people. Thats lame. You show that your in CAL.IM or something else

I stopped playing CS about 6 months ago, once i went to college. But for about a year before that I never played in a pub. You play in private server and do a 5 on 5 scrim nubbie

I pretty much only play 1.5 these days. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to loathe CS updates, as they just destroy more and more of what I love about the game.

I've been on and off it since it was in beta about 3 or 4 years ago. Now, with UT2004 and Warcraft3 Custom Maps... I no longer have time. Oh and there's a couple things like full-time job, fiancee, and life to attend to.

You must play pretty seriously... Are you in a top clan or something?

I used to be a CSer, but I'm still hooked on BF1942. CS is just way to repetitive. And who ever said that with every new release is gets worse, I couldn't agree more. Not to mention, steam annoys me at times. I like just playing it the old school way.

The only reason I posted it, was because it was allready uploaded and I just wanted to show a decent score. I am by no means saying I am the best, but I surely am a decent player.

You obviously jump to conclusions to soon if you got all of that bullshit from a one word post.

kthxbye

*sigh* You still don't get it, do you? Why would you even want to show a score if you didn't want to look good? You wouldn't care. But you DO care, so you posted the score. If the :) wasn't smug, then what was it? I can't think of ANY other reason to include it. If you can, please enlighten me.

I am by no means saying I am the best, but I surely am a decent player.

That's cool. All I'm saying is that if this was the impression you wanted to make, you could have done it in a better way. Like, for instance, saying what you just said.

It's interesting that you say I'm jumping to conclusions too soon when several other people have either insulted you or called posting pub screenshots n00bish. We may be jumping to conclusions, but we're jumping to the same conclusion. Perhaps this is good evidence that you misrepresented yourself? Well, no big deal. Just remember it for the future. If you post random screenshots of your scores, people will think you're bragging.

The reason I am saying you jumped to conclusions is because you were the only person who continued on the original flame from Apac. If you had just let it die when he said he just being an ass, there would be nothing to argue about.

I hardly play at home anymore, the hackers are way too rampant. If i do i usually go to a lan place with my friends and play for an hour or so. But the game gets monotonous, HALO XBOX is much more interesting and social

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to flame you. I was simply trying to explain what I thought about why he acted the way he did. I almost let the whole thing drop, but thought it might be helpful to you if you knew WHY people were mad at you. I was a bit unforgiving in the way I explained it, though. I apologize.

Yes, I still play CS. Not as much, and I still play 1.5 (the day I use 1.6 is the day pigs fly).

Yes, every now and then. In the past, I used to play this game all of the damn time. I stopped since I got a job and I was sick and tired of the cheaters. I'm kind of starting to play again since I have more time on my hands now. :)

The last time I played it was after they setup steam. I love what they've done with steam, it works really slick, but that was the same day they added shields and 'fixed' certain maps. That was just the straw ontop of a pile of new features that have ruined the fun of counter-strike (starting back in beta 5 when it really rocked) and I havn't played since. But it is still installed, I figure I'll need steam for HL2 anyways.

See I am the exact opposite. I hate games where you die and you get respawned right away. I think Counter Strike has the perfect mulitplayer model. It is a unique spin on team based multiplayer that to my knowledge no other game has attempted. If you die you stay dead till one team wins or time expires. I hope that CS 2 does not abandon this model. This model obviosly works for alot of people since for the last 5+ years CS has been and still remains the most played Online game. I have been playing for over 4 years since Beta 5 and still play from time to time.

I used to play sometimes, but I was never good enough to hang.... plus I never had much fun playing either. I still play Diablo2 though.
